Building a hub for creating next-generation semiconductors that aims to achieve both digitalization and decarbonization
Establishment of Center for Semiconductor and Device Ecosystem as a joint education and research center
Based on the semiconductor technology (including the transfer method using two-dimensional material tape) and know-how that GIC has accumulated and maintained, as well as clean rooms and auxiliary equipment, we will carry out open innovation initiatives related to semiconductor and device research and education.
The aim is to create a world-class research and education base for the semiconductor and device ecosystem, as well as an open innovation platform for the creation of next-generation semiconductors from the perspectives of new designs, processes, materials and applications.
Through these efforts, we will actively contribute to expanding the use of energy-saving electronics products centered around semiconductors, building distributed energy systems, and advancing the IoT society.
